European Poker Tour -- Kiev Main Event

A Long Day of Play Takes the Field down to a Final Table of Eight

Day 4 of the €5,000 no-limit hold’em main event at the PokerStars European Poker Tour stop in Kiev, Ukraine was a long ride. Play lasted close to 12 hours as the field shrank from the final 32 players to a final table of eight. The EPT Live video feed was rolling the entire day, bringing all of the action to you live on CardPlayer.com. Maxim Lykov continued to dominate the field. He entered the day with the chip lead and increased it four times over to take 2,597,000 into the final table. His closest competition is almost 1 million behind (Vadim Markushevski – 1,652,000).
The final nine were reached relatively quickly on day 4, but it then took three hours to bust a player on the final-table bubble. That unfortunate soul was Michael Jurgen Meyburg, who held pocket sevens on his final hand. Vitaly Tolokonnikov called him down with A-10 and a ten on the flop settled the matter. The final eight players will return tomorrow at noon EEST (2 a.m. PST). Be sure to follow all of the action on the PokerStars blog feed and the EPT Live video feed. A recap of the final table will be posted at the conclusion of play.
