Total Chaos. It is how a Russian civil servant of play described the situation in his country. In a movement which left more than 400.000 people without work, according to NewYork Times, Russia officially stopped all its casinos and rooms of poker.
On July 1, a new Russian law entered the effect which actually closed the halls of machine to the casino and with under whole the countries. The thousands of casinos had occurred in Russia in the middle of a pole of play, but all were forced to close their doors with the direction of former president and current Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
Under the terms of the new law, playing in Russia was supposed being limited to four specific areas of the country, but with alarming economic times and a lack of financial expenses to build new casinos, nothing was established.
Although casinos were forced to stop this month earlier, good number of them transformed into clubs of poker because in virtue 2007 of a law, poker qualified like sport and were thus free of the new legislation.
However, the Russian cavils servant canceled who mark this week - to force thousands of rooms of poker to stop.
In an interview 2006, Putin described its reasoning so that the movement discussed limit play:
I - and much of people know this and heard of him - just recently sent a bill to the Duma of state which, according to my proposal, confines all the activities of play and businesses in four special zones assigned for this type of activity and of businesses. (the note of writer: The law which would pass thereafter granted these four zones of play. Unfortunately, none them had been established before all the other casinos had to stop.)
Unfortunately, they is not only the young people but also pensioners who lose their last penny and pensions by the play. The experts say that the dependence with regard to the plays and to play is much stronger than leaning with alcohol. It is a problem serious and comparable with what would occur if all the country were of going well to alcoholics. And, naturally, the government should have already paid the attention to this sphere of activity and these businesses a long time ago. I believe that it is a civilized solution. We will give a certain period to allow all those which take part in these businesses to react at the appropriate time, make the corresponding decisions, and then direct their efforts and the considerable capital which they owe already developing these four special zones.
The four zones not yet being established, much frank critics blew the initiative of Putin.
It is difficult to include/understand logic and the decisions of the dilettantes, the binding of Samuil, executive director of deputy of Russian association for the development of the businesses of play, indicated to NewYork Times this week. We have a situation really idiot in Russia - it is total chaos.
The European excursion of poker of PokerStars was programmed to make a stop in Moscow on August 18, but with the recent news leaving Russia, the excursion decided to remain starting from the country.
